Inshore Gulf of Mexico Fishing Charter
$500 for a 6 hour charter, 1-3 anglers
When conditions are right, a fishing charter in the inshore Gulf of Mexico off of the Sarasota beaches can be fantastic! East winds result in calm, clear water, which will pull the bait in from the offshore depths. Pelagic species (those that migrate along the coast) such as Spanish and king mackerel, false albacore, cobia, and sharks will follow the schools of bait, often times feeding aggressively on the surface. This type of fishing is very visual and quite exciting! Anglers can cast artificial lures or flies at the schools of breaking fish as they ravage the helpless bait. Trolling can help locate the gamefish on days when they are not showing well on the surface and is a highly productive technique for landing a big king mackerel. Several nearby artificial reefs also hold a lot of both bait and gamefish and provide good bottom fishing as well.
